Changes to the employment permits system

Great news if you are a pharmacist, cardiac physiologist, medical scientist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, podiatrist/chiropodist, psychologist and speech and language therapist.

These professions were added to the critical skills list meaning that finding a job and securing a Critical Skills Employment permit just became a bit easier for them.

During the announcement Damien English TD, Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail highlighted that Irish “economic migration policy accommodates the arrival of non-EEA nationals to fill skills and labour gaps in the domestic economy”. The system is to be reviewed bi-annually and it is flexible enough to address any emerging labour and skills shortages in real time.
